CONGRESSMAN KEVIN CRAMER TO JOIN RURAL BROADBAND ADVOCATES FOR COMMUNITY FORUM ON NORTH DAKOTA’S DIGITAL DIVIDE

MEDIA ADVISORY
January 11, 2018

Bismarck, ND – Just one week after its national launch, Connect Americans Now (CAN) will host a community forum with U.S. Congressman Kevin Cramer on efforts to bridge North Dakota’s digital divide. Participants will discuss new technology utilizing TV white spaces, which can deliver broadband in underserved areas, as well as the actions needed in Washington to eliminate the digital divide by 2022.

As the Chairman of the House Rural Broadband Caucus, Congressman Cramer has been a tireless advocate for the 23.4 million rural Americans who live on the wrong side of the digital divide. He has endorsed the use of TV white space technology and recently joined forces with North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to send a letter to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai requesting that the commission preserve at least three TV white space channels for wireless broadband in every market across the country.
